According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) by race/ethnicity, African Americans face the most severe burden of HIV in the United States (US). At the end of 2007, blacks accounted for almost half (46%) of people living with a diagnosis of HIV infection in the 37 states and 5 US dependent areas with long-term, confidential, name-based HIV reporting.
Join MetroBoard as we support the AIDS Run & Walk Chicago 2012 on Sunday, September 30th, 2012.
Time: 8:00 am – 1:00 pm
Location: Grant Park (volunteer meeting location TDB)
Volunteers Needed: Runners/Walkers: 15+; Event Aids: 10+
Volunteer Duties: The AIDS Walk and Run Chicago will take place on Saturday, September 29th, 2012, starting in Grant Park. MB volunteers will participate in two ways:
1. RUNNER/ WALKER - participates in the run/walk and secures donations to support the Foundation - $1,000 overall goal for MetroBoard. Register or make a donation at http://afc.aidschicago.org/netcommunity/Metroboard
2. EVENT AID – participates in one of different opportunities including course water distribution or finish line management
