Science Shaping Our World-SHOW is an ongoing seminar and networking series that highlights cutting edge translational life science research and development. Our mission is to bring together a multidisciplinary audience spanning academia and industry providing exposure and insight into the life science advancements changing our world.

September’s SHOW will focus on the emmerging area of syntheic biology. Specifically, our speaker, Dr. Timothy Lu, will highlight the engineering of integrated memory and computational circuits in living cells using analog and digital principles, applying synthetic biology to tackle important medical and industrial problems.

Dr. Timothy Lu is is an Assistant Professor leading the Synthetic Biology Group in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and the Department of Biological Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Dr. Lu is also a core member of the MIT Synthetic Biology Center and a co-founder of Sample6 Technologies, a Boston-based company that is delivering a revolutionary microbial diagnostic based on synthetic-biology-derived technologies.

Please join us for an amazing evening of science, innovation, and networking. Event sign-in begins at 5:30 PM. Presentation and discussion will follow from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. Further, you are encouraged to bring your business cards, and enthusiasm, for an evening of networking following the presentation from 8:00-9:00 PM. Light food and refreshments provided.*
